Yesterday, we were in Parliament giving evidence to the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee’s inquiry into women’s sport, alongside Sport England.
The session covered a whole range of topics, including school sport and how early-years stereotyping affects girls, leisure facilities and the gender play gap in team sport.
As our CEO, Stephanie Hilborne OBE said, “There needs to be far more work done to understand how deep these stereotypes go and how deep misogyny goes. Because we are not taught about this, we are not aware of it as we grow up. It just becomes part of us and we just pass it to the next generation.”
